Dallas, Texas, also known as ‘The Big D’, is one of the most exciting cities in the Lone Star State. As one of the largest cities in Texas, you can rest assure that there’s always something to do regardless of your taste is when it comes to having a great time.
On the surface, it may seem just like any other city; one of those lesser known places where you’ve passed through with a connecting flight, and didn’t seem worthy of a second glance. But if one took the time to learn about what the city has to offer, it wouldn’t take long until anyone would be convinced that Dallas is more than just the home of the Cowboys and Mavericks. Texas, as many of us know, is a city where everything is uncommonly huge-whether in infamy or out of a distinct character, it still holds true. Dallas is no exception, but not in any sense of stereotype, rather its size can be measured by how it embraces both nature and city life by mixing them together, creating an unforgettable experience for its visitors.
There’s the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden which is comprised of 66 acres of blooming flower beds, manicured lawns and lush trees.
In downtown, you can find the Dallas Museum of Art where over 23,000 items are collected from around the world and displayed for anyone to enjoy, from paintings, sculptures, and artifacts.
If you are travelling with children, or maybe just the child in you, you can take a peek at the Dallas Zoo to delight in seeing wildlife both indigenous and exotic.
And if you’re still restless during the night (which you’ll probably be), there are dozens of venues to help fulfill your nocturnal urges starting from Adair’s Saloon, complete with good food, great drinks, and live bands.
Getting around Dallas is easy. Most of its streets are pedestrian friendly and safe. But if you’re looking to get around much quicker, you can always take the DART rail system (which stands for Dallas Area Rapid Transit). As for those seeking for a more private way to get around, renting car or taking a cab will prove to be a cinch, and you wouldn’t have to worry about getting lost since Dallas has very organized highways and streets. Lastly, if you’re really feeling adventurous, why not hire a limo to drive you around? There are plenty of Limousine services housed in the city.
You’ll also be thankful for not missing out on some great Texan food from restaurants such as the Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse N9NE Steakhouse. Of course, there are also other well known restaurants that serve other kinds of dishes like Manna Indian Restaurant, Nove Italiano, and The Fish-Sushi Bar and Longue.
At the end of an eventful day, naturally, you’ll want to find a place where you can put up your feet and relax. Dallas has many hotels operated by well known lodging franchises like Marriot, Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, Westin, and Hyatt.
