Your Home Based Business: Formal Education vs. “Internet” Knowledge
It’s been determined by “experts” that in the near future middle-class America will be obsolete. Just imagine, we will either find ourselves living below the poverty level, struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck, or if we’re lucky, we join the ranks of the upper class. But is luck a determining factor in success or failure? I don’t think so. Like the great poet of his time, William Ernest Henley, wrote, “We are the captains of our universe, the masters of our souls”. We have complete control over our thoughts and our action, and in our great nation, we have the freedom to do or to be anything we desire. Fortunately, the opportunity for financial success is available to anyone who dares to grab it. Your dream of having own home based Internet business is closer than you think to becoming a reality.
The key to personal and financial success lies within us all. It starts with determination, dedication, and perseverance. First, get started, then stay focused, don’t let anything stand in your way and most important, don’t quit. When you think you want to pull your hair out, don’t – it’s very painful! When you’re ready to throw your computer out the window, stop – that could get expensive! You CAN do this. When you get stuck, ask questions. The more questions we ask, the more we learn. The more we learn, the more educated we are. In his book, Think and Grow Rich, the great Napoleon Hill wrote “Any person is educated who knows where to get knowledge when it is needed and how to organize that knowledge into definite plans of action.” This is so true and fortunately there are many avenues available where you can gather all the knowledge and information you need to make your business completely successful.
I’ve learned the hard way that you cannot succeed without the help and support of others. Even if you know nothing about starting a business you can still be successful. I read a story about Henry Ford that explains very well how anyone with the desire can become successful. A Chicago newspaper featured a story which basically said Henry Ford was an idiot because he had no formal education. He never attended high school much less college. Mr. Ford in turn sued the newspaper for libeling him. In the questioning phase of the trial, the attorney for the newspaper questioned Mr. Ford himself, asking him questions of a general nature to prove he was in fact an idiot. Finally, after many more questions of the same nature, Mr. Ford responded. His response floored everyone in the courtroom, judge and jury alike. He asked the attorney why he should clutter his mind with such general knowledge when, on his desk he had a row of buttons and by pushing any one of them he could summon one of a number of men who could answer any question about any subject he wished to gain knowledge of. Believe it or not you and I have this same power at our fingertips. We may not have geniuses standing around just waiting to answer our questions, but we do have the Internet. The Internet is like a super highway of knowledge and by pressing a few buttons we can have the answers to any questions we want or need about any subject we so desire.
Please understand, I am in no way taking anything away from the benefits of having a formal education. I have the utmost respect for those who choose to pursue a higher education. It takes a great deal of determination and perseverance in and of itself and is quite commendable. I am saying you don’t have to be one the geniuses who worked for Mr. Ford knowing everything about anything. Again, with the Internet, you have everything you need to succeed right in front of you. If you can read and understand this article then you definitely have what it takes to start your own home based Internet business. So get started and Good Luck!
