Is Network Marketing Success Only For Sharks

Is Network Marketing Success Only For Sharks?

Who in your network marketing mlm business is having the most
success? Is it the milder-mannered types? Or is it those with a “go
get it” attitude who push through every obstacle and are out to get
everyone they can?

I don’t know about your experience but certainly mine has been that
the top earners are those more aggressive, on-to-it people who seem
to be able to latch on to the right people and keep charging ahead.

They have a very focussed attitude and methodology.

And I have heard it said that these are the sort of people we need
to be seeking for our downline. If we want to build our organisation
fast these are the best ones to have. And as many of them as we can
find.

What is a shark?

Well it is one of the four main personality types. Some people
classify them by colours, others by other animal names and Myers-
Briggs have their own description.

So you have sharks, dolphins, whales and urchins. Or orange, green,
gold and blue. Or lions, otters, golden retrievers and beavers.

But basically each personality type has its own way of processing
information, enjoying life and basic needs.

A shark tends to act fast, loves facts and requires power and
control. A dolphin also likes to work fast but enjoys more emotional
connections and responds to fun and recognition. A whale processes
things more slowly, again enjoys the more emotional connections and
finds fulfilment in support and teamwork. While the urchin also
processes slowly, but likes lots of hard detailed facts and thrives
on respect and the feeling of having made a correct decision.

There is a fairly even mixture of personality types in the world.
And the world is richer for it.

In jobs people of certain personality types respond or enjoy
particular occupations. Part of human resources analysis is based on
this.

Clearly the different personalities are going to function
differently in different situations. And this is one of the reasons
it would seem that sharks are so good for network marketing.
Generally in mlm the faster you build the better you whole team is.
So someone who can process things quickly, can make snap judgments
with minimal information is going to move faster than someone who
processes things more slowly or who needs more facts to make a
decision.

Also someone who loves power and control also will tend to rise to
the top in an organisation and shine there.

Hence the apparent success with sharks.

Knowing the variety of processing styles, most great presenters will
cover the full range of personality profiles, appealing to success in
sharks, fun and enjoyment for dolphins, teams and meeting many
people’s needs for the whales, and detailed facts for the urchins.

Hence they will attract all types into their organisation. So there
is a need for the there to be a place that sits well for other
personalities besides sharks. With sharks rising so quickly their
style tends to be one that is modeled.

But, with the range of personalities out there, it is important we
allow for different styles. Not just in our presentations. But also
in the duplicable methods we encourage people to use.

If we expect the other personality types to use the same methods as
the sharks we have to expect them to feel uncomfortable doing so.
And then the presentations and piquing come across as strained or
insincere. And we wonder why recruiting is so hard. 90% of our
communication is non-verbal. Feeling awkward about the way we are
doing things comes across.

We need to find the way that suits our personality. Then our
communication with be congruent in both verbal and non-verbal areas.
And people will connect with us. Then the other personalities
besides sharks will have success too.

How to Buy a Business Opportunity

How to Buy a Business Opportunity

We all know that ideas are a dime a dozen. While ideas may be cheap, good ideas can be rarer than free diamonds. If good ideas were that easy to come by, however, ask yourself why you didn’t invent the personal computer or compact discs.

So consider buying a good idea for your business. Besides buying a franchise or an existing business, or starting a business from scratch, you can buy a business concept. You may see some of these concepts referred to as business opportunities and easy ways to make extra money.

With a franchise you’re buying a name and concept by paying an up-front franchise fee and a continuing percentage of your earnings. With a non-franchise business opportunity you also buy a concept by paying an up-front fee for your easy ways to make extra money. You may also pay the seller for equipment and supplies. What you don’t pay is a continuing percentage of your earnings.

While you do get a business idea that is a turnkey business where you can immediately begin your operations, you don’t get many of the things that come with a franchise. Sometimes these things are good, sometimes not so good.

Understand that there is no requirement to pay any ongoing fees. Once you pay for the business opportunity, you’re basically on your own. You may continue to order supplies from the seller, but there are no other fees. With a franchise you have a continuing obligation to pay franchise fees.

There are also no restrictions. With a non-franchise business you aren’t required to conform strictly to a franchiser’s code of operations. You have more flexibility to run the business as you see fit. And because you don’t have the ongoing fees of a franchise, you have more money in your pocket to do with as you wish.

There are other things that aren’t quite so favorable for a business opportunity. First is the trade name. With a non-franchise business you get the concept, such as college scholarship matching in which you help students locate scholarship opportunities, but you probably won’t get the trade name, such as American College Planning Services, a franchise providing the same type of service. Although you can negotiate to keep the current business name, in most cases, you run the non-franchise business under the name you select with your easy ways to make extra money. You must establish your own name recognition.

You also don’t get a protected territory. Unlike a franchise opportunity, the seller of a non-franchise business may sell the same business opportunity to your next-door neighbor, unless you have a non-compete clause in your contract.

It also lacks extensive training. You may get some reference guides or tapes to instruct you in how the business operates, but the seller of a non-franchise business opportunity will not show you how to run a business in general. You have to pick this up on your own. There may be a trade association that covers your business type that can help you.

MLM As A Residual Income Source

MLM As A Residual Income Source

A lot of people are searching for ways to create a stream of passive income. They love the idea of having the freedom to devote their time on things that really matter to them without the need to sacrifice a big part of it in a job, in exchange for a salary. In today’s world there many ways that can help you achieve such a quality of life and one of them is multi level marketing.

Network Marketing is the preferable choice for the average citizen that wants to start a home based business and become his own boss, but it’s also a way to build an asset that can bring to him residual income. An income for which no more he would be required to work as his past efforts put in his business would pay dividends for the rest of his life.

You see, in this industry as you grow your organization and build your downline there comes a point that the hard workers you trained to duplicate your success are now capable to fully manage and lead themselves and their networks. They are now growing without your help and the more they grow the more the wealth they generate increases. As a result your paycheck goes up all the time.

Developing your own assets that would provide you with a residual income would be a prudent move in the future that is coming. Social security is on the brink of going bankrupt and millions of employees are putting their money in mutual funds hoping that the stock market would be able to pay for their pension. Unfortunately mutual funds are created primarily for making those who run them rich and secondly their investors. If you don’t get control of your own financial future no one else is going to do it for you.

Multilevel marketing, unlike other investments, it doesn’t require capital or great leverage in the form of debt like real estate cause you are not leveraging money but people and your own time. It’s a people’s business where they help each other to grow together rich. You help others for free to build their own business in exchange for future commissions when they would become successful and start earning money. Similarly you get the same help from your sponsor when you begin.

Furthermore, it is like a school for would be entrepreneurs. They learn and practice first hand what it takes to become one. What is like to manage and lead other people towards a common goal. It’s no coincidence that Robert Kiyosaki author of the Rich Dad book series recommends Network Marketing for people who wants to escape the quadrants of employees and self-employed and move to those of businessmen and investors.

Clearly MLM is an excellent and recommended source of the income that you desire. It can beat many other forms of generating it when it comes to needed capital, expertise and connections. Simplicity and low entry cost is the greatest weapons that it posses and distinct it from other opportunities in regard to the average individual.

MLM Team Building

MLM Team Building

If you really want to succeed in network marketing you need to build a strong team and not just a downline. Just stacking your network with new members won’t help you achieve the financial freedom that you are seeking. You need to have a system in place that would take inexperienced newcomers from your organization and would turn them to result-driven smart workers that would aspire to become leaders.

People don’t just go out and duplicate you, they need training and directions. Actually the concept of duplication is a big lie in multilevel marketing similar to the one of managing people in the corporate world. You can’t manage people or duplicate someone. As Michael Gerber says in his book Emyth it’s systems that people follow.

Your mission as the leader of your organization is to take the company’s system, which in most cases is very basic and limited, add to it what you have learned from your experience and constant practice, and pass it to those your sponsor. Unfortunately, some distributors are building big networks and amass a great number of members but neglect their responsibilities as sponsors and leaders. They believe it to be counter-productive and time consuming to divert their attention to that task since most of them would eventually fail and quit.

Certainly is not a waste of time such a pursue, but there are efficient and inefficient ways to do that. The inefficient way of course is to not have a system in place and improvise every time you’re trying to teach someone on a one to one basis. That way you can omit or neglect to mention important things when passing a prospecting method to someone else, or any other information.

The best approach that you can use at training your distributors actually starts from you. Your first step is to analyze and break down the methods you use to build your MLM business to its smallest component. Then write down step by step instructions for every method you use, mentioning the smallest detail without leaving any blind spots or room for assumptions and interpretations.

4 MLM Tips For Getting Yourself Organized

4 MLM Tips For Getting Yourself Organized

When you try to build your network marketing business there are 4 essential tips that can really boost your productivity, increase your efficiency and save you from wasting your precious time. They are the basic steps to get you organized and start to deliver in order to succeed in growing your network.

The first thing you need to do is decide your promotional methods that you are going to use. There are countless ways to advertise your business, but trying to do a bit of everything won’t lead you anywhere. Start with the few basic ways that you are better at, or feel more comfortable doing, and concentrate on them. After you master them and if you have the available time you can always add more to your program.

Second, you need to make a schedule with all your business activities and stop trying to do what you feel like doing mostly at that day. That is a very bad habit and hammers your efficiency and productivity while you are also running the risk of omitting important things until it’s too late. Organizing your daily activities is the single best thing that can greatly help your business and a benchmark that separates the successful distributors from those destined to fail.

After you make your schedule what you must do in order to become effective is to follow it religiously and never make any exceptions. Don’t try to find excuses or loopholes as you are only lying and hurting yourself. It’s more preferable to start with a light one that don’t take much time and tires you, rather than starting with an ambitious, heavy, and time consuming schedule that can exhaust you and stop you from following it.

All static things can kill your business and so your schedule should embrace change. To achieve that you need to revise it at regular intervals and make the necessary modifications. Did everything go as planned? What’s the result you got? Should something get out of it or replaced with another task that brings better results? Do I have available time to keep up if I add more things?

Questions like that can help you identify what changes you need to make or if you are ready to add additional tasks that can help your multilevel marketing business.
