What Does a Wet Kit Do

What Does a Wet Kit Do?

A wet kit is a kit that is installed on trucks or semi-trucks that have a Power Take Off, commonly known as a PTO. The PTO routinely activates the hydraulic pump, which is installed on the truck along with other accessories such as the boom or crane. The accessories connected to the hydraulic pump become operational when the pump is activated.

Each wet kit has many components. Some of the components can include PTO’s, hoses, tanks, and fittings, just to name a few. When the PTO activates the hydraulic pump, it begins to push the hydraulic fluid through the hoses and into the cylinders.

When this happens, it is possible to lift heavy loads or do other heavy tasks. The discharged fluid is returned to the reservoir after lifting the loads. Then the hydraulic pump, continuing the closed cycle indefinitely, sucks it up again.

There are various manufacturers that offer the complete wet kit machine. Parts are available separately. Other types of wet kits (often called wetline kits) that are available are:

1. Wetline kits for dumper trailers - These wetline kits for dumpers can produce up to 3000psi of pressure. Wetline kits have even more possible arrangements. Also available are tailor made kits that suit your needs.

2. Wetline kits for Utility Trailers - This type of kit has the capacity to produce high pressures for low flow of fluids.

There are wetline kits of various other capacities for different applications are available on the market apart from these. The pressure created by the hydraulic pump and the flow of fluid determine the capacities of these systems. The size of the reservoir increases according to the flow that the hydraulic fluid increases.

Wetline kits do not come in standard sizes. The kit is custom made to the needs of the customer. It is advised that when you purchase your wetline kit, you consult the manufacturer directly and explain your detailed requirements. The manufacturer will suggest a specific wetline kit of the correct type and suitable capacity for all of your various uses.

The valve system that controls the flow of the fluid and the hydraulic pump (dump pump) can be setup using various possible arrangements. Those possible arrangements are:

1. A two line dump pump system - The dump pump and the control valve go together in this system. This is very practical for the dump trailer that uses it intermittently.

2. Three line dump system - Just like that last system, the hydraulic pump and the control valve are integrated. This system can be used for the dump trailers that run continuously.

3. The separate the pump and the control valve system - The hydraulic pump and the control valve are apart from one another.

Wetline kits operate on several arrangements. You should consult the manufacturer to find out the exact requirements you need and see if your system will work for your intended application.

James Handrousen knows more about Truck dump bodies. As a small business owner with several trucks of his own, he has purchased multiple wet line kits, all of which were custom made for his company. Learning about truck equipment and wet line kits took some time, but James has never regretted being knowledgeable about Sacramento hydraulics.

Mariner: The Practical Hybrid

The Mercury Mariner compact SUV was introduced in 2005. Its components are closely related to the Ford Escape except from being offered with only an automatic transmission. Mariner differed mostly in aesthetic appeal and comfort.

In 2006 the Mariner Hybrid was released. “It is a “full” hybrid electric system, meaning the system can switch automatically between pure electric power, pure gasoline engine power, or a combination of electric battery and gasoline engine operating together.”

The first 2008 Mercury Mariner was unveiled at the South Florida International Auto Show on October 6, 2006. It is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in two trims, the 4X2 and the 4X4. It comes in bold styling.

“The 4X2 is equipped with a standard 2.3-liter, I4, 133-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 34-mpg in the city and 30-mpg on the highway. The 4X4 is equipped with a standard 2.3-liter, I4, 133-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 29-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.” Reviewers describe it as at best performer with a competitive class.

Reviewers say that the upgrade gave this SUV a more aggressive presence. The new grille that’s larger, with bigger openings between the bars is one of the striking features of its exterior.

“Every surface was changed to make the vehicle look more substantial than the previous model,” These are some exterior auto parts options available; moon roof, side step bars and a roof rack.

Impressive interior features are evident in the Mercury Mariner’s five-passenger cabin. It has Satin Pewter finishes and chrome accents which give it a classier look. Many reviewers noticed its spacious seating and stylish use of materials and color treatments. The seats are monochromatic or two-tone with Alcantara ® Suede inserts.

It also features a four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with an auxiliary MP3 jack, full power accessories, keyless entry, and tinted privacy glass. Designers have added lots of interior storage, it is now 27.8 cubic feet, fairly typical for this class of vehicle, and a respectable 66 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Safety features include; front and side airbags for the front seats, and side-curtain airbags that cover both rows, as well as AdvanceTrac (stability control) with anti-rollover technology. It has performed well in government crash tests, leading to an excellent score for safety.

The 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid has been a practical version of a small SUV.

Ford also assures us that the improved aerodynamics achieves better fuel economy.

The exterior can be described as muscular. The new Escape looks bigger than the model it replaces, but actually it’s the same size, having the same wheelbase and exterior dimensions. Edmunds.com notes that the new Ford-edge headlights, made the new Escape “a handsome little rig”.

These are the exterior auto parts that completes the new Escape; higher waistline, revised grille and headlamps, taller hood and larger mirrors.

It also made significant improvements in its interior comfort and quality. It showcases the first U.S. automotive application of seating surfaces made entirely from 100 percent recycled materials. “The entire vehicle is about 85% recyclable.” But these fabrics are attractive and expected to be very durable. It has a white-faced speedometer and tachometer back lit with blue lighting that’s easier to read, so it is extremely easy for the eyes at night.

There’s plenty of space to load their stuff, there’s 66 cubic feet with the second row folded and 27.8 cubic feet with all seats up.

“Standard safety features on the 2008 Escape Hybrid include front and side airbags for the front seats and side-curtain airbags that cover rows, four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS and tire pressure monitoring.” In government crash test ratings, the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid receives three out of five stars for driver protection.

The price averages at about $30,000, making sure that the Escape remains a competitive small sport-utility vehicle.
